Oregon Trail Card Game - Bad Water Calamity Card Explained

There are several calamity cards in the Oregon Trail Card Game that can be a tad bit confusing, the Bad Water Card is certainly one of those.

The card Reads " Your oxen drank bad water. Flush away bad water with 1 clean water card. If 2 Bad water Cards are collected then two oxen die. One round of play without an Oxen Card and everyone in your party had DIED."

There are several important things to keep track of the first is in the deck of calamity cards there are only two Bad Water Cards. The second detail is that no oxen die unless the second Bad Water Card is played. Lastly if the second Bad Water Card is played you have one round to play an oxen card or everyone dies. Oregon Trail Card Game - Ford the River Card Explained

Recently Pressman Toys released an updated to the official game rules. One of the new rules changes the interpretation of the Ford the River card. Specifically the river must be successfully crossed before another trail card is played. For more details watch our video.

Coup - Quick game play

Coup is a classic bluffing game where each player gets two cards and can use the power of any card they can get away with. Game play is fast and intense. Learn to play and see what you can get away with when you try to bluff your way to victory. But don't forget if you get caught bluffing you will be out of the game in a hurry.

I had a fun time with this video.  I decided to add some graphics to help explain the cards.  If you have not play this card game.  It is a quick and fun game.  I am not a fan of bluffing games, but this one is good.  My son does not ever bluff and he usually wins, so it can still be played, because you just never know if this is the one time a player is going to bluff.

Good News! We have played the game and really like it. We lost the first time and won the second time.  It is different from most games, because you work together as a time.  All win or no one does.  Of course when a member of the wagon company dies (which happened in both games), it may not seem like you are helping as much. 

 Here is a short video we made on set up.  We will be posting a video how to play the game shortly. 

The Oregon Trail Card Game

We were lucky to get a copy a new game  from Pressman called "The Oregon Trail Card Game" based upon the computer game.  It is exclusively sold at Target.  It will be released on July 31st  for sales.  

We have played two rounds as a family so far.  Stay tuned to some sneak peaks on the game.
